What everyone really wants is an easy way to see their financial situation, and the answers to a few basic questions: What do I have? Am I on track to reach my goals? What do I need to do to get there? Schedule a “one on one” meeting with an investment advisor to answer these questions.
Before You Schedule Your Appointment
To ensure that your one on one meeting with an investment advisor is productive, we need to gather some information beforehand. This allows us to provide you with the best investment and savings advice to achieve your goals. Before scheduling, gather the following information:
Your pre-tax retirement income goal amount
You and your spouse’s current retirement account balances
You and your spouse’s stock to bond mix (percentages)
How much is contributed to you and your spouse’s retirement plan monthly (include the amount your employer contributes)
Planned retirement ages for you and your spouse
Expected or current monthly Social Security benefit for you and your spouse (Social Security Quick Calculator)
Expected or current monthly Pension amounts for you and your spouse
A list of any additional retirement, non-retirement, and real estate values
A list of debt amounts and planned payoff dates (mortgages, student loans, etc.)
Once you submit this form, you can select a meeting date and time. If your meeting is a web-based video meeting, you will receive an email with credentials to enter the meeting.
Figuring Out Your Income Goal Amount
Estimating retirement lifestyle needs can be difficult considering it might be many years into the future for some. To help us understand, we look at current retiree’s income needs as a percentage of their pre-retirement income and needs will vary by household income. You can use the J.P. Morgan Retirement Insights “Guide to Retirement” below to assist with goal setting. You can see on page 15 of the guide current retiree’s income rates based on different pre-retirement income levels.
We understand these percentages are estimates and individuals will have different goals and retirement dreams. We help you develop a plan your specific goals and all it takes is a “one on one” meeting with an investment advisor.
